Detroit Permaculture Action Day with Rising Appalachia
at Spirit Farm, an 11-year strong urban farm in North Corktown
followed by a benefit concert with:

From 10am-6pm the Action Day will include hands-on projects, workshops, local perspectives, community resources, and next steps for addressing Food, Water, Housing, and Land Security.

Workshops and panel discussions will explore ways the system is operating that create dependence; building awareness on ways to regain autonomy and provide for oneself; and community resources for folks directly affected by symptoms of gentrification.

We will be focusing on building a water catchment system for the farm with practical skills like post setting, framing, light roofing, and guttering.

We will also get some practice in small-scale framing to construct a pig house. These are great projects for folks of any skill level, and will leave you with some practical takeaways.
